Shade ranges are usually matched on swatch cards. We matched ours on people, in daylight, at noon.

A swatch card cannot tell you how a tint oxidises on warm skin at 3pm. Sixty volunteers could.
What we changed
Two shades moved warmer after the first round, one was cut entirely, and the deepest three were rebuilt with less titanium dioxide so they stop reading grey in photos.
